This is a total rewrite of our cViewMANAGER product to run as a windows service.  That improves your reliability so when the server restarts, the reports in the schedule will automatically restart.  Critical errors are written to the Windows Event Log so your network administrators can monitor and manage reports better.
  • Free cViewREMOTE for Schedule Management. This amazing product includes one cViewREMOTE client for schedule management. Its capabilities include adding and removing reports from the schedule, setting the schedule time and output destination, and all the other configuration settings. cViewREMOTE will also manage an existing cViewMANAGER schedule. Additional cViewREMOTE clients are available separately.
  • Schedule Compatibility. Your cViewMANAGER report schedule can be used immediately by cViewSERVER. No complex or lengthy upgrades to consider.
  • Improved SMTP processing. cViewSERVER uses the Windows 2000/XP SMTP service to send email messages. It also provides a cViewMAIL mailbox to work with our SMTP UFL or other 3rd party products that need to send email.
  • Crystal Reports XI compatibility. cViewSERVER is compatible with Crystal Reports XI and can process all prior versions of Crystal Reports.
  • Functionality. Includes all the key features of our cViewMANAGER report scheduler: Dynamic Dates, Multirun, Table Mapping, and List Processing are all supported in cViewSERVER.

Q: What are the differences between cViewMANAGER and cViewSERVER?

A: Both cViewMANAGER and cViewSERVER automatically schedule and distribute your reports. But, one runs as an application and one runs as a service.

Reasons to run cViewMANAGER Reasons to run cViewSERVER
• cViewSERVER, like all Windows services, cannot see mapped drives.

If your database requires a reference to a mapped drive on a remote you will not be able to use cViewSERVER.

You will need to revert to cViewMANAGER or use a UNC path if available.

• You can more closely monitor the report processing with cViewMANAGER.

• cViewMANAGER supports reports designed in most older versions, as well as newer versions, of Crystal Reports : Crystal Reports v7, v8, v8.5, v9, v10

• cViewMANAGER supports older versions of Windows operating systems:

Windows NT 4 and Windows 98SE (minimum)

Windows 2000 and above (recommended)
 • cViewSERVER runs as a service. This means that cViewSERVER will start when the machine starts rather than requiring a user to log in and start a process.

• You do not need to be logged in as a user or as administrator–this is an important security consideration.

• The process starts automatically if the machine is rebooted.

• cViewSERVER uses the SMTP service included within Windows 2000 to send email. This is more reliable than the mail processing within cViewMANAGER.

• cViewSERVER supports the newer versions of Windows operating systems:

Windows 2000 and above (minimum)

Windows 2000 server or Windows 2003 server (recommended)

• Restriction: cViewSERVER supports only reports designed in later versions of Crystal Reports: Crystal Reports v9, v10.
