cViewSERVER includes the following features to make it easy for you to schedule Crystal Reports:
- Run
as a Windows Service.
This is a total rewrite of our cViewSERVER product to run as a windows
service. That improves your reliability so when the server restarts,
the reports in the schedule will automatically restart. Critical
errors are written to the Windows Event Log so your network administrators
can monitor and manage reports better.
- Free cViewREMOTE
for Schedule Management. This amazing product includes one cViewREMOTE
client for
schedule management. Its capabilities include adding and removing reports from the
schedule, setting the schedule time and output destination, and all the
other configuration settings. cViewREMOTE
will also manage an existing cViewSERVER schedule. Additional cViewREMOTE
clients are available separately.
- Schedule
Compatibility.
Your cViewSERVER report schedule can be used immediately by cViewSERVER. No complex or lengthy upgrades to consider.
- Improved
SMTP processing. cViewSERVER uses the Windows 2000/XP SMTP
service to send email messages. It also provides a cViewMAIL mailbox
to work with our SMTP UFL or other 3rd party products that need to send
email.

- Export files in such formats as Crystal
Reports (rpt), MS Word, MS Excel, Rich Text (RTF), Comma Separated
Variable (CSV), HTML, and PDF (requires Crystal Reports
8.x or higher).
- Run the
same report multiple times with different parameters and/or
destinations.
- Maintain
an external list of values and destinations for a group of
scheduled reports.

How many licenses do you need? |
|
A license is required for each server on which cViewSERVER is installed. cViewSERVER is usually installed by someone who has administrator rights to see the data and process the reports.
Volume discounts are available. If...
- Someone has a different set of security permissions to see a different set of data or reports, a separate license is needed to cover that set of data and reports.
- Someone is on a separate physical network (or even different city) with their own reports and data, a separate license is needed to cover that set of data and reports.
- You have a backup server which is simply used in the case of failure of your main server, we will not charge you for a second license of cViewSERVER for the backup server.

What's the difference between cViewSERVER and cView? |
You can automatically schedule and distribute your reports and enable users to view and refresh reports from the database using a combination of cViewSERVER and cView.
- cViewSERVER is the scheduler and needs to be installed on only the PC scheduling the reports (and not on the PCs of the people receiving the reports).

cView is the viewer and is installed on the PCs of the people receiving the reports.
