Crystal Reports: cViewTEXT 1.0- Help Files

Help Index

Why do you need cViewTEXT?

  • Your database has a field in it that stores the file name of an text file or you have a folder of text files you want to display in a report.
  • You want to see formatted text embedded in your report.
  • You want something that is easy to use.
  • You are comfortable with subreports and linking to existing parameters.
  • You are using Crystal Reports 8.5 or later
  • Your images are all of a similar shape and size

KEY Facts

  • cViewTEXT uses the COM source driver for Crystal Reports
  • cViewTEXT will work with Crystal Reports 8.5, 9.0 and 10.0.  It will not work with versions 8.0 or earlier as they do not recognize the COM data driver
  • cViewTEXT will process txt, html and rtf files.
  • There is no cViewTEXT application.  You use cViewTEXT inside the Crystal Reports Designer.

There are now two COM drivers included in the setup. You can process a recordset with a single record and image or all the text in a folder.

You can use separate COM image files by storing the file database information in separate files.
