cViewTEXT.TextFile | Operation
This is the recommended driver for processing a single text file name. It was developed after feedback from our cViewIMAGE users. This driver is fast and easy to use. Create a new report or subreport, and select a COM data source. In CR8.5 this is listed in the data explorer under "More Data Sources", "Active Data". If you do not see COM data listed, you can install the COM driver using these instructions.
Specify a COM Program ID of cViewTEXT.TextFile.
You will then be prompted for the name of a text file. This can be a text, html or rtf file. If the file contains formatted HTML or Rich Text (RTF) then you can use Crystal Reports Text Interpretation feature to display fully formatted file contents.
This can be used to retrieve a single image in a main report, but would be more useful in a subreport where the parameter was loaded from a field or formula in the main report. |
