cView has been developed to provide the following functions:

  • Load and process your Crystal Reports

  • Change the location of the data source via our table mapping feature

Main Form and Menus:

The main cView form is a list of the reports.  If you double click on a report in the list, you will process and view that report.

If a report has saved data, it will view the report with that saved data.  If you have security permission to access the live data, then the refresh button may be used.

The following toolbar buttons are available on the form:

What is cView?
It is a report viewer that can view Crystal Reports in ways that other viewers cannot.

What is a report viewer?
Software that allows you to view reports developed by skilled Crystal Reports designers.

Who Needs a Report Viewer?
Users who want to see reports that were developed by a skilled Report Designer.

Crystal Reports is widely used to present information stored in company and personal databases. A Report Designer creates the report instructions to control the data selection and presentation of the report.

Rather than wait for the Report Designer to be available, other people can use cView to process the report when they want to.

Can I see the EULA?
Sure. Right mouseclick here.

Could they view reports any other way?
Yes.  With Crystal Reports 7 and earlier, the Report Designer could create compiled reports and distribute those to the Users.

Another option is Web delivery (for Crystal Reports versions 8 and 9). A third option is available for those using the Seagate Info software and a fourth is the free viewer. All of these have weaknesses that cView overcomes.
