Crystal Reports Administration: Viewing Reports

Busy executives need a quick and easy way to view live reports. Now you have designed your report, others want to view it who typically do not have Crystal Reports software on their PC.

Depending on the needs of the user, cView can give them the ability to choose the report they want to run or, for those busy types, run a default report.

So at the press of a button their favorite report runs. With just one click on the cView icon on their desktop.

If someone e-mails you a Crystal Report and you have access to your database, most Crystal Report viewers will allow you to run the report. cView does this, also. But, it also allows you to process the report against live data. Thus, it is a true Crystal Reports viewer that doesn't consign you to working with outdated reports. Or to building information silos.

Once you've installed the cView license, you'll be able to modify many reports, print settings, and display settings. cView allows a user to dynamically change report file locations at run time. This works for data file based reports using FoxPro, Btrieve, or MS-Access.

Normal cView operation

cView displays a list of reports in a folder you manage. The user selects the report they want to view. If they have access to the database, they can refresh it. The History view displays the previous ten reports viewed.

How to use the one-click feature

Create a shortcut on the Desktop to the cView program and modify the shortcut properties for the target to 
C:\Program Files\ cView\cView.EXE” c:\Reports\Urgent.rpt
